Pearl Zhu said "In a broader sense, systems thinking is a path to greater awareness" and I totally agree with that. After all, we know that a bad system will beat a good person every time (Edwards Deming). We are all part of a bigger system and it is essential for us to understand that and how things relate to each other, before we look to solve any issues. I had the joy of having a short discussion on Systems thinking with three of my classmates - we are all doing a Masters in Coaching and Behavioural change and this is a topic that is really relevant to us. How can thinking systemically help you? Do share your thoughts and comments.

“Open your arms to change but don’t let go of your values.” (Dalai Lama) Values are qualities, approaches and principles that are important to us. Every human has his or her own unique set of values and living in a way that is aligned to these brings joy and contentment. There will be times when it can bring other emotions too and that is worth exploring in itself to determine what you'd like to change and what you'd like to preserve. I had the privilege of having a brilliant conversation with three very inspiring ladies who have been living their values - Anna Maddox, Indu Basu and Sarah Leach. Listen to this podcast for some great ideas on value-based living. |
